Frequently Asked Questions about Hiring a Magician
How do I go about booking Noel?
Contact him through the enquiry form, or call on 0781 382 5547
Is Noel insured?
Yes, he has £5 million public liability insurance.
Is Noel a Member of The Magic Circle
Noel is a Member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star. He is one of only 300 members of The Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star, a designation that can only be given by the President of The Magic Circle and is the highest level in the society.
What do I need to provide for a successful show?
Nothing, just add people and stir gently. As a close-up magician Noel works out of his pockets and use people’s hands, so he doesn’t even need a table. Ideally the music won’t be ear splitting but even this can be overcome with purely visual magic. Once he’s there, just point him in the direction of your guests and off he goes.
If you’re booking Noel for a stage show he will need to know some details about the venue, but he usually travels with all that he needs to perform.
Is my event too small to have a magician?
No event is too small – Noel has even performed magic for two people in a hotel room (not like that).
How far in advance do I need to book?
Generally speaking events are booked between 6 weeks and 18 months in advance although sometimes there are last minute cancellations. Some times of year are very popular – Fridays and Saturdays during the summer are quickly booked up. However if you need a magician, whether it’s at the last minute or in a year’s time, contact Noel for an informal chat and a quote.

Does Noel do kids parties?
No, Noel’s magic is for adults, however if children are present at a wedding or other event he can show them a couple of great tricks that will make them go all fuzzy inside.
Can Noel provide customised magic for our product?
Yes. He has done just that for Samsung, Nintendo, Mercedes and Microsoft – get in touch and to can discuss your requirements!
How far will Noel travel?
Noel travels all over the UK and the world performing magic, so location is not an issue. As he is based in the south east of England most of his work is in and around London, Surrey, Kent, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Essex, Berkshire, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, Bedfordshire, Dorset, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Buckinghamshire. However feel free to get in touch if you want to book Noel, wherever your event is taking place.
What kind of tricks does Noel do?
Noel performs amazing close up magic like you might have seen on television, from TV magicians like Dynamo and David Blaine. You can expect Noel to do tricks with bank notes, credit cards, playing cards and coins. He is also an iPad magician so you can expect to see 21st century miracles with iPads and mobile phones.
Is VAT and other expenses charged on top of the fee?
Nope. The fee quoted is the full and final price.
What’s the booking process?
Once we’ve agreed the price, the booking process is very quick, all done online and takes two minutes. Noel will send you a link to the booking confirmation form, which you need to fill in and submit, and you will need to pay a small deposit to secure the date. Once this is done you can sit back and relax and Noel will be in touch a few days before the event to see all is well.
If at any point you want to discuss any details of the event feel free to give me a call on 0781 382 5547 or email anytime.
Why is there no price list?
There is no price list because prices are dependent on many factors, and Noel would need to know more about your event. However he can easily provide you with a quote once you have told him about what you’re planning – feel free to complete the enquiry form, or call on 0781 382 5547. All emails are answered within 24 hours and most within 6 hours.
How did you get started?
At age 11 Noel visited a racecourse on a trip to Ireland with his parents and came across an old man called Séan ‘tossing the broads’ (carney slang for throwing women in the air). In this instance he was the operator of a con game called Find the Lady, otherwise known as the Three Card Trick, or Three Card Monte.
Noel was enchanted by the sly old fox’s ability to win money from the rabble and spent 3 days watching him. He figured out the trick and set about practicing the con using sleight of hand…he even considered joining the carneys but unfortunately this was during a time when the carneys sacrificed ‘gingers’ so as they didn’t sour the milk.
Noel took this knowledge back to school and fleeced his mates, which really encourages the thirst for knowledge! He didn’t turn to the dark side though. With the lunch money he had grifted as a Monte Man he bought magic books and started practicing. He practiced a whole lot. Then he practiced some more…and then after that he kept practicing. That day at the racecourse was over 30 years ago and for the last 20 years Noel has been a full time professional close-up magician.
Can you tell me how the tricks are done?
The short answer is no. Noel says: “I could give you the stock unfunny answers like “I could tell you but I’d have to kill you” or “very well thanks” but I think it’s better to spare us both. Magic stops being fun if you know how it’s done. Anyone who has seen the “Masked Magician” TV shows will agree, watching them is about as much fun as pulling teeth with a claw hammer.”
